Books-A-Million Book Signing

On Saturday, May 26 from 12:00-3:00 p.m., Bob Tarte, author of Enslaved by Ducks and Fowl Weather, will be visiting Books-A-Million to sign autographs and discuss his career as a journalist. Bob Tarte and his wife Linda live on the edge of a shoe-sucking swamp near the West Michigan village of Lowell. When not fending off mosquitoes during temperate months and chipping ice out of plastic wading pools in the frigid winter, Bob writes the Technobeat world music column for The Beat magazine. He has also written for The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Miami New Times and other publications.

Memorial Day Weekend Music Manifesto

The Town Center at Levis Commons will come alive with music over the long Memorial Day weekend. Call it a kick-off to our Let's Do Lunch concert series!

On Friday, May 25, the McTigue Jr. High School Choir will perform on the boulevard from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.

On Saturday, May 26, The Salvation Army New Jersey Youth Band will perform on the boulevard from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. The New Jersey Youth Band (NJYB) consists of young people ages 13-30 playing a variety of brass instruments such as cornets, alto horns, baritones, euphoniums, trombones, tubas and, of course, percussion. The NJYB also features a timbrel group, which presents rhythmic drills with tambourines to some of the more lively music the band plays. The band members and timbrelists join their voices together to form a youth chorus.
